Main Street

As you walk up and down Main Street in Thornapple Manor you will be transported into a mini-village. The Main Street was created to resemble things we would find in a small town, not unlike where most of our residents grew up in. Whether a cup of coffee in the Café or a quiet time in the Chapel, we encourage residents and visitors to experience some of our simple pleasures. Anchored by two of the five neighborhood living rooms, Main Street is decorated with postcard and photographic art of scenic locations around Barry County which were captured in old postcards, carefully restored, enlarged and framed.

The Doctor’s Office – a small on-site exam room that assures our residents’, and doctors’, privacy in routine care and assessments.

The Chapel – beautiful stained glass windows adorn this quiet space set aside to meet the needs of individual or family devotion and prayer time.

The Children’s Room – bright and interactive, this room invites that family togetherness, where kids can play while visiting their great grand parents or someone they love in a very kid-friendly environment.

Chapel and Salon

The Salon and Barber Shop – designed to meet the needs of our residents, special accommodations have been incorporated to make this shop, which is opened four days a week (and some special event times), a fun place to go for both men and women.

The Main Street Café – A stunning 18 foot mural of downtown Hastings is sure to become a favorite place for family members to gather for a cup of coffee with their loved-one. The mural creates a one-of-a-kind location – fashioned just for the residents at Thornapple Manor.

The Gift Shop – Another new feature is the Thornapple Manor Auxiliary Gift Shop. The auxiliary has long served to enhance the lives of the residents within Thornapple Manor. All proceeds benefit residents at Thornapple Manor while offering good products at reasonable prices. Hours vary but the auxiliary volunteers try to open the store every afternoon during the week.

Gift Shop

The Living Rooms – there are two located along the Main Street walkway, one on each end of the hall. As in all of the five living rooms, each located in a different neighborhood, games, TV, puzzles and a variety of other entertainment items can be found.
